Go Green: Wear a Condom

As the baby gently coos, the mother gently cradles him against her body. He shifts his head, finding comfort against the person who, in part, created him.
Babies are often a common bond humans can share- we all begin as babies, many people will raise a child who begins as one, and we are taught instinctively to protect them, as without babies there would be no more adults. What often goes unstated, however, is that irresponsible procreation is harmful to today’s and tomorrow’s population.
It’s proven science- the more people on the world, the greater our carbon footprint is, the less resources we have, and the less room there is.
This is a simple and undeniable fact, but it is so rarely talked about. What horrible person would want less babies on earth? When people think about it, they imagine the strict one-child law in China or the unimaginable form of population control in Soylent Green. There’s a less science-fiction way of thinking of it, however. Many pregnancies in America, and elsewhere, are unplanned. (more…)
