Brittanie’s Thyme to be at The Eco Fair

20 Apr

Brittanie’s Thyme,  a woman-owned manufacturer of USDA certified personal care products will be at the 2011 Eco Fair. We are very excited to have them for a second year! Lay back and enjoy a little preview of what’s in store for Friday April 22nd:

Brittanie’s Thyme believes that natural and organic is a life choice, not a fashion or a trend. Its products are intended to be used, and used regularly. The ingredients as well as prices reflect this philosophy. No fillers, artificial preservatives, artificial fragrances or dyes are used.

The company’s lines include: Mindful Beauty, facial care for women. Facial Freedom, facial care for Generation Y that’s also great for men. Outdoor Harmony, which includes organic bug spray and organic bug bite relief. Full Breath is for cold and sinus relief. All of its products, with the exception of the French Green Clay Facial Mask with White Tea and Exfoliating Clay Scrub, are USDA certified at 95% organic or higher.

The company experienced tremendous growth in 2010. It was a top ten nominee for Green America’s “People’s Choice Award” and also received the “Start-Up to Watch” award from Michigan State University. In addition to gaining brand awareness because of high quality, effective products and organic certification, the company also witnessed growth in customers with gluten sensitivity. The majority of the products have always been gluten-free, but due to the increasing number of individuals with this issue, Brittanie’s Thyme has launched additional products specifically for those with this sensitivity and will continue to do so.

We are honored that Brittanie’s Thyme will be a part of the Eco Fair.

It’s happening this Friday, April 22nd from 11:00-3:00 in the Conaway Center (1104 S. Wabash). Come out to meet vendors, learn about local issues, get a shirt screen printed, enjoy some art and eat some food, among other things!

Their products are also available in Whole Foods, Midwestern holistic healing centers, independent retailers throughout the US, and online at brittaniesthyme.com.

Earth Day Celebration

6 Apr

On April 22nd 2011 at 6:30pm, performers, artists, healers, poets, musicians and vendors are taking over The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum on Earth Day. All proceeds for this festival go to the Nature Museum. This one day festival will be both illuminating and entertaining through a celebration of Earth Day by educating and enlightening consciousness through music, food, wine and green conversation.

Headlining the night we have, The Collective Consciousness Movement (CCM). CCM, rooted in Chicago, is a musical tribe influenced by social/political/environmental progression, new-age spirituality and love compassion for all. The magic this group creates continues to bring awareness of reality, individuality, and spirituality using music and performance as the medium to express their messages. CCM breaks the mold of musical genres by letting their concept drive their musical direction and distinct style.

This clairvoyant night couldn’t have been complete without the support of fire spinners, massage therapists, live painters, photography galleries, amazing poi and hoop performers, wellness and meditation therapists, readers, Reiki practitioners and vendors. For $25 an attendee will receive appetizers, dinner, drinks, full access to museum, music and lots of entertainment and expect Children 12 and under are free.
